China Jiangxi LU SHAN YUN WU (CLOUD MIST) Superior Green Tea
An excellent representative of the green teas of "cloud and mist" from the early spring harvest, from the famous Mount Lu (Lushan) in Jiangxi province, which according to an old saying prolongs life.
High quality leaf, sweet herbal aroma with a noticeable proportion of tips, tightly rolled into loosely twisted needles.
The infusion is excellent, full-bodied and balanced, with a characteristically herbaceous, sweet flavour and slightly spicy notes.
Preparation tip: warm the teapot, add a tea filter with 6 – 7 g of tea, pour 0.3l of water at 80°C, infuse for about 2 minutes, can be poured again.
Lushan Mountain is one of the most beautiful peaks in China and a popular recreational area. It is located between the Yangtze River and Lake Phuiyang, which means it is shrouded in mist, providing ideal conditions for growing tea. It was here that tea master Lu Yu wrote his famous book, in which he mentions the local tea, Lu-shan yun-wu (All the Chinas of China p. 202). During the Song Dynasty, the local tea was bred into an excellent variety, and around 1000 AD, it was used to pay the emperors' rations. |
