Formosa Nantou Ming Qian HONG YU (RED JADE) BAI CHA Superior White Tea 30g
A Taiwanese tea speciality from the first spring harvest before the Qing ming jie (Festival of Purity and Brightness). White tea from a cultivar called Hong Yu, produced by a special method.
Tips with two leaves are left to wilt for 2-3 days after harvesting. The tea is then dried in a pan and left to rest for up to a month before being finally dried, giving it a dark colour even though it is only lightly fermented as a white tea.
A long, darker brown, uniformly loosely rolled leaf with a sweet, slightly caramel aroma.
The infusion is lighter brown in colour, very distinctive, full and balanced, with a sweet herbal flavour, nutty notes and a pleasant aftertaste.
Tea is in original packaging 50g.
Preparation tip: pour 8 grams of tea into a heated teapot, pour 0.3l of water at 80°C or warmer, infuse for about 2 minutes, pour again. This tea can also be tried prepared in the gong fu way.
NOTE: the free sample weights 5g. |
